Seeds for regenerative change

Our proposal is not a static, final masterplan, but an exploration of different models of community-led housing, a variety of densities, characters, types of streets and public spaces that will be defined by these buildings, in order to test the brief for 1000 new homes and to explore possible futures for the site. Highly responsive to preset criteria. Strongly expressive of the slogan. Unparalleled, beautiful presentation. Buildings are too scattered though, limiting possibility of future amendments to the land use. Maybe the spaces are too generous. Excellent work.

Beautiful graphics, presentation and very tactical. However, there is too much information and details that over complicate the concept.

I'd be afraid of an utterly conventional outcome

Thoughtful layout but overly complex build

This seems like a liveable and active community - mixed house types and sizes, something for everyone. Lovely design

I like the neighborhood within a plot idea ... where people can get many of the things they need and want very nearby without having to go somewhere else for it. I also think it's smart to have more than one type of residential building, and more than one type of "area" because different people like different things, and have different needs. Thus, I think it would make sense to have one of the types of neighborhoods from this plan on one side of the valley, and another on the other side, so people who like one type can opt for that.

Is brea liom é! Let’s tear down the peace walls and build a better society with the rubble. No more gatekeepers and threats and violence. I’ve lived in the west all my life. I’m up and down the Shankill and Falls every day without hassle. We can build integrated, sustainable communities no bother - we don’t have to listen to the old white men any more! Let’s do it. Well done take back the city.

I love the range of different types of homes on offer here, and the way that it’s set out as a series of small local neighbourhoods within the larger whole. You can imagine people moving from one to another throughout their lives as their needs change, while remaining within the Mackies community throughout. The range of ways of introducing productive green space is impressive

So much detail in this masterplan, it brings the vision to life!

This is a really well thought out masterplan. I absolutely love it. The drawings are great and really bring alive the principles behind the design. Amazing work!
