Over the summer, Take Back The City held a trailblazing competition, inviting architects and urban planners from all over the world to design a first-of-its-kind, climate resilient community at the Mackie’s site - the largest, vacant publicly owned site in Belfast. Click here for the full report.
We asked designers to imagine how this site might be transformed to help communities respond to the cost of living, housing and climate crises. The response has been outstanding and the final designs are now in.
We passionately believe that public participation should shape the City of the Future and we are now rolling out a series of initiatives to hear the views of as many people as possible to help pick a winning design.
Join us at any of our upcoming public events to meet campaigners and interact with the designs or log on to have your say, anywhere, any time, using our latest interactive tool - coming soon to this site!
